Below is a 6 day / 5 night itinerary to give a general idea of our Historical Hampi itinerary starting from Hampi:
Arrival in Hampi , where you spend the next two days exploring this fascinating city of ruins and its UNESCO heritage sites.
Visit the Hampi Bazaar area, the riverside area and the 16th century Vitthala Temple with its famous stone chariot. Take a coracle boat across the river to experience the past come alive amidst remains of palaces and temples.
In the morning, you can take a walk or bike ride through the serene landscape dotted with banana plantations, paddy fields and boulders. You will also have an opportunity to experience village culture and get to know the locals.
Drive to Badami where you spend the day exploring the famous rock-cut caves and the Agastya lake surrounded by many temples.
Walk through the old streets to relive history or climb to the Badami Fort, which is perched on a hill, for panoramic views of the town and lake.
Referred to as the cradle of Indian rock architecture, Aihole is home to 125 temples built between the 6th and 12th centuries. The temples are built in diverse architectural styles and are also mentioned in Hindu mythology.
Continue to the Pattadakal complex with nine Hindu and Jain temples before driving back to Badami for the night.
Drive back to Hampi from where you fly back.
